About Lucy is born in a family of eight. Her father is a community ranger while her mother is a small scale farmer. Two of her siblings are in college while her other sibling is in secondary school. Getting school fees for Lucy and her other siblings has become a challenge for the parents as they earn very little income that is not able to cater for their kids’ education. Their source of income has also been affected in a great way due to the prolonged drought in the region as they have not been able to harvest and sell any crops due to lack of rain. Her wish is to be granted a scholarship opportunity so that she can complete her studies and help her family and community in the future.
